To make it to the race on Saturday, you have to reach Pokhara on Friday. You could technically take a night bus and arrive very early in the morning of race day, but we do not recommend it.

By Flight

There is a direct flight from Kathmandu (Tribhuwan International Airport – TIA) to Pokhara Airport. Flights are regular, 8 to 10 flights a day by Buddha Air and Yeti Airlines. Flight time is about 25mins.

By Bus

Tourist buses are easily available for KTM – Pokhara – KTM route. Catch an early morning bus from Sorhakhutte (near Thamel) between 6am to 8am. You don’t need to book tickets, and can directly show up. A tourist bus takes about 7-8 hours to reach Pokhara, including a couple of stops for food and loo.

By Van

If you’re strapped for time, head straight to Kalanki (west highway exit from Kathmandu) and grab a van to Pokhara. The ride will be tight but you reach Pokhara in 5 to 6hrs, with one stop for food.

From Pokhara airport / bus station, take a cab to Lakeside, where you get hotels, restaurants and all the buzz Pokhara is about. Cab ride is about 10mins and costs Rs. 300 (USD 3). The race shuttle bus leaves at 6:30am on race morning from Halanchowk, which is at the heart of Lakeside.
